Drug Related Crimes in BC.

In most of Canada cannabis related drug offences have been on the decline since it has been made a legal drug. As shown in surveys taken throughout 2018, the cause behind the decline is because people prefer safety and quality over convenience and cost. Meaning that people will go to a government regulated store rather then buying from there local drug dealer. However with other drug offences like heroin and cocaine the numbers have also dropped. The overall drug related crime percentage has dropped 9.9%.  I personally think that since weed has been legalized the number of deaths and offences related to cannabis has decreased so drastically that it might be beneficial to do the same thing or something similar with some of the other major drugs that are out there.

My Crim Theory

My Theory is two different theories mixed together to make one main reason as to why a majority of crime happens around the world. The first is upbringing, this includes the effect your parent have, your childhood friends and your living situation have on you as a kid. The other is your current surroundings, so once again your family and current friend as well as your living situations now. The reason I believe that you need both past and present of these things is because if your poor as a child and lived in a run down house your not necessarily going to steal from someone but if you are grown up and once again living in a run down place you are more likely to steal money to pay rent or food in order to continue living. Also from your friend and family you can get different mental illnesses like depression and anxiety, both of these could have the possibility to lead to different crimes being committed.
