Short and Long Term Impacts of Victimization

The short term impacts on victims of crime depend on the crime some may find financial issues or have physical injury's preventing them from working. However many feel depressed, have post-traumatic stress disorder, troubles sleeping or are guilty believing that they could have prevented it from happening.
The long term effects of being a victim of crime is a shorter list consisting of complete lifestyle changes, suicidal thoughts or actions, continued problems sleeping or extreme crime preventive measures.
In the  Law & Order episode we watched on Friday Harper  had many of these effects after her victimization she experienced PTSD, problems sleeping, complete lifestyle change and would wear running shoes to bed to feel safer. Harper also had many locks on her door to prevent any unwanted strangers.
